Charging installation leader Qmerit has announced a record surge in home electric vehicle (EV) charger installations, making the first quarter of 2025 the best in the company’s nine-year history. The company saw a 57% increase in installations compared to the last quarter of 2024, signaling a growing trend of EV owners opting for home charging solutions.
Oliver Phillips, Qmerit’s Chief Operating Officer, attributes the rise in installations to more customers choosing home chargers as part of their EV purchase process. He explained that once customers experience the convenience of having a fully charged vehicle every morning, they become more comfortable with the idea, leading to wider acceptance of home charging. “That sows the seeds for more acceptance,” Phillips said in an email to InsideEVs.
