Charge+ has introduced Singapore’s first Direct Current (DC) fast charger in a Housing & Development Board (HDB) surface carpark, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure development.
DC fast chargers are particularly beneficial for EV drivers who cover above-average distances and may need to charge multiple times a day, offering a faster and more efficient alternative to the standard alternating current (AC) chargers typically used for overnight charging. The newly installed DC chargers are designed for low-noise operation, making them ideal for residential areas, as they can be installed near housing blocks without causing significant disturbances.
Charge+ has plans to expand its DC fast charging network by adding six more chargers at HDB surface carparks in high-demand areas such as Beach Road, Bukit Merah, Bukit Panjang, Ghim Moh, Jurong East, and Kallang Bahru. This expansion is slated for completion by mid-2025.
Currently, Charge+ operates over 1,300 charging points across Singapore, contributing significantly to the country’s push for greener and more sustainable transportation.
This expansion reflects Charge+’s commitment to supporting Singapore’s growing EV market and ensuring that charging infrastructure is readily accessible to residents across the island.
