LG CNS has made its official entry into the U.S. market by signing its first smart city contract in the public sector. The South Korean IT service provider announced on Thursday that it has partnered with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) for a pilot project.
Under the agreement, LG CNS will build and manage electric vehicle charging stations, along with a control system, at the Brooklyn Army Terminal industrial complex. The project will include the installation of Level 3 ultra-fast chargers and energy storage systems as part of a broader initiative to enhance the city’s infrastructure.
In addition, LG CNS has secured a separate contract with the city of Hogansville, Georgia, to develop smart street lighting and a control system. The company plans to expand its projects to nearby cities, including LaGrange and West Point, as part of its U.S. business growth strategy.
