Stirling Ultracold, a leading innovator in ultra-low temperature (ULT) freezers, has announced the commercial release of its new VAULT100 upright ULT freezer. This state-of-the-art freezer is the first in the industry to feature a temperature range from -100°C to -20°C. The VAULT100 offers exceptional temperature uniformity of +/-3°C at -80°C throughout its interior, maintaining market-leading adherence to setpoint.
The VAULT100 is powered by the advanced M6D free-piston Stirling engine, providing enhanced performance and energy efficiency. It also includes a larger 10-inch touchscreen display with a graphical user interface (GUI) and Onboard Predictive Analytics freezer diagnostics.
Replacing the SU780XLE model, the VAULT100 offers the same storage capacity and external dimensions, ensuring the highest storage density and smallest footprint in its class. The expanded temperature range provides users with more flexibility while maintaining energy efficiency. Notably, the VAULT100 maintains an interior temperature below -70°C for up to 2 minutes, even when the door is open at the -100°C setpoint.

Since its inception in 2011, Stirling Ultracold has revolutionized the ULT freezer market with its free-piston Stirling engine cooling technology. The new M6D engine in the VAULT100 builds on these advancements, improving reliability and efficiency. The freezer consumes just 5.8 kWh/day (steady-state) and has a Maximum Daily Energy Consumption (MDEC) of 0.22 kWh/day/cu-ft, with ENERGY STAR®-certification validating its energy efficiency.
A key feature of the VAULT100 is the Onboard Predictive Analytics section of the GUI, which monitors the health of the freezer. This unique tool analyzes multiple sensors within the M6D engine and offers guidance for preventative maintenance and proactive recommendations based on the unit’s operating conditions.
