At IWA 2025 in Nuremberg, Germany, Acebeam unveiled a new USB flashlight designed for everyday carry (EDC) use. The prototype, named UC25, features multiple light sources, including a spotlight for precise illumination, an LED floodlight, a laser pointer, and rows of multicolored LEDs integrated into the handle.
Users can switch between these light sources using a rotary switch with a button, similar to Olight’s Arkfeld flashlight series. There is also an additional switch on the back for further adjustments. However, it’s important to note that the UC25 is still in development, and the prototype’s software for controlling the switches wasn’t functioning reliably during the preview.
Since the UC25 is not yet a finished product, its specifications are not final. For instance, Acebeam is considering removing the multicolored LEDs in the handle, as they seem more suited for a party light, based on the animations shown during the presentation. While these LEDs could serve as ambient lighting, their placement may not be ideal for such use.
The UC25 also features a belt clip, which can be used to attach the flashlight to a hat, making it useful for hands-free operation in low-light work environments. Despite being a prototype, the flashlight appeared lightweight and durable, suggesting it could withstand tough working conditions.
It remains unclear when the UC25 will be released, and Acebeam has not yet announced a price or official launch date for the flashlight.
