Lawmakers at the State Capitol have made changes to a proposed ban on new gas-powered leaf blowers. The revised bill now only targets state agencies after 2027.
The original proposal faced strong opposition, prompting the adjustment. State Rep. Jonathan Steinberg, D-Westport, explained that the goal is to introduce limits on the use of gas-powered blowers, if not an outright ban.

However, State Rep. Doug Dubitsky, R-Chaplin, disagreed. He argued against mandating even state agencies to use more expensive alternatives.
