Replus, a part of the LNJ Bhilwara Group, has announced plans to expand its current 1 GWh battery production facility to 6 GWh within the next year. This expansion aims to support the growing electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage system (ESS) markets in India by incorporating next-generation battery technologies.
The upgraded 6 GWh facility will utilize advanced automation, artificial intelligence, and data-driven manufacturing. The new facility will feature real-time monitoring, machine vision, robotic systems, automated material handling, and laser welding to boost efficiency. At the same time, the company is committed to sustainability, focusing on minimizing the carbon footprint during production.
To meet the market’s evolving demands, the plant will take a flexible approach to battery technology, capable of working with various cell chemistries. This includes high-energy-density cells, blade cells, and emerging chemistries such as Na-ion, LMFP, and LTO.
