Bühler Group, a Swiss technology leader, has been awarded a significant contract by FIB S.p.A., a subsidiary of Seri Industrial S.p.A., to provide state-of-the-art equipment for the large-scale production of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. The installation will take place at the Teverola 2 plant, located near Naples, Italy.
Key Details
Annual Production Capacity: The Teverola 2 facility will have a production capacity of 8 gigawatt hours (GWh), positioning it as a key player in Europe’s growing battery manufacturing sector.
Bühler’s Role: Bühler will provide four continuous mixing lines for electrode slurry production, a crucial step in battery manufacturing. These lines are scheduled for installation by late 2025, with production slated to begin in 2026.
Previous Collaboration: Bühler has been working with FIB since 2020, when it delivered an electrode slurry production system for FIB’s Teverola 1 pilot plant, which has a capacity of 0.35 GWh/year and produces lithium-ion cells, modules, and battery packs.
This development underscores Bühler’s continued leadership in the field of battery production technology, helping to accelerate Europe’s transition to clean energy and electric mobility solutions.
