Danish logistics provider Blue Water Shipping has successfully completed the transport of large compressors for Yinson Production from Poland to Singapore. The 100-kilometer journey was carried out during silent hours at night to minimize disruption to local communities and traffic.
The compressors were safely loaded onto a vessel for transport to Singapore, where they will be installed on the topside modules of the FPSO Agogo.
Before the transport, Blue Water conducted comprehensive route assessments to address challenges posed by infrastructure limitations, such as low bridges, narrow roads, and fragile surfaces. The team managed all aspects of the logistics, including on-site modifications and ensuring smooth coordination among all parties involved to secure timely delivery.
“Transporting oversized and heavy compressors requires careful planning to navigate complex routes while minimizing operational and safety risks. Success depends on detailed preparation, specialized equipment, and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure a seamless journey,” said Subrata Podder, Marine & Transport Engineering Manager, Global Technical Engineering at Blue Water.
Anthony Zhuang, Head of Projects for Singapore & Malaysia at Blue Water, emphasized the importance of proper transport, stating, “Timely and secure delivery of the compressors is essential to safeguarding the FPSO project’s schedule. We are proud to apply our expertise to such complex projects, overcoming logistics challenges and providing peace of mind to our customers.”
