A group of friends in Madison gathered on Monday to take a stand against gun violence by transforming gun parts into garden tools. The event, organized by Jeff Wild, took place in the parking lot of Midvale Community Lutheran Church, located at the corner of Midvale and Tokay.
Wild, along with two of his friends, received the guns during a recent gun surrender event held last week. With these surrendered firearms in hand, the group took part in the creative initiative to help reduce gun violence in the community.
“I’m proud to be part of this movement,” said Wild. “I believe that through the collaboration of faith communities, local leaders, and students in schools, we can create a movement that reduces firearm violence and makes our community safer.”
The event serves as part of ongoing efforts in Madison to address the rising concerns over gun violence and encourages proactive community involvement to promote peace and safety.
