TMC to Provide Smart Air Compressors for Maersk’s Methanol-Fueled Vessels

TMC has secured a contract to supply a complete marine compressed air system for six methanol-fueled container vessels operated by Maersk. The system will feature TMC’s Smart Air compressors, which are designed to offer up to 40 percent energy savings compared to traditional compressors.

The Smart Air system utilizes frequency-controlled technology that allows precise control over the compressor speed. This means the electrical motor adjusts its speed based on the required air volume, ensuring that compressed air consumption is met efficiently. As a result, lower air consumption leads to reduced compressor speed and consequently, lower power usage.
