Glen Ridge Passes Ordinance to Restrict Gas Leaf Blowers for Public Health and Environmental Protection
Glen Ridge has passed a new ordinance that will restrict the use of gas-powered leaf blowers in the borough. Council members unanimously approved Ordinance 1816, which limits the use of gas leaf blowers to specific seasons—April 1 through May 15 and October 15 through December 15.
This move is part of the borough’s ongoing commitment to public health and environmental sustainability. Electric and battery-powered blowers will be allowed year-round, while turbo blowers will be restricted to properties of 5 acres or more. Additionally, leaf blowers will not be permitted for chemical applications.
