A painter, identified as 54-year-old Amarnath Bharti from Uttamnagar, tragically lost his life after falling from a ladder at a construction site in the Chandannagar area. The incident occurred while Bharti was painting a wall at a height of 10-12 feet. He lost his balance and fell, sustaining severe injuries. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Bharti succumbed to his injuries.
Upon investigation, police discovered that Bharti had not been provided with the necessary safety gear, leading to the case being reclassified. Labour contractor Devnath Yadav has been booked by the Chandannagar police. A complaint filed by police official Mahesh Bhongle has resulted in charges under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
