A new congressional resolution, introduced by Republicans, could block President Biden’s recent ban on natural gas water heaters, Fox News Digital has learned.
In the final days of the Biden administration, the Department of Energy announced a new rule that will ban non-condensing, natural gas-fired water heaters by 2029 in a bid to reduce carbon emissions. However, Republicans in Congress are looking to challenge the rule.
On Wednesday, Rep. Gary Palmer, R-Ala., introduced a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution, which allows Congress to overturn rules set by federal agencies, aiming to block the administration’s appliance crackdown, according to Fox News Digital.
“This is a radical ban on water heaters. It’s another example of government overreach by the Biden administration as they exit office. They don’t care about consumers,” Palmer said in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital.
