Acebeam has released an upgraded version of its popular tactical flashlight, the TAC AA 2.0. This compact everyday carry (EDC) flashlight is compatible with both a 14500 battery (3.7 volts) and a standard AA battery, providing flexibility for users. However, the battery must be removed from the flashlight for charging via USB-C.
The body of the flashlight remains similar to its predecessor, with only a minor increase in length by 0.008 inches. A key improvement is the addition of a belt clip that can now be attached to hats with a sun visor, a feature that was absent in the earlier model.
The TAC AA 2.0 comes in two color variants, each with distinct features. The black version is equipped with a TN LED, similar to the previous model’s Nichia LED. It boasts a throw of 920 feet with 1,000 lumens in turbo mode, lasting for 35 seconds before switching to 500 lumens for 49 minutes. The flashlight also offers 5, 50, and 260 lumen modes with battery life ranging from 58 hours to 2 hours.
The red and blue versions feature an STN LED and a different optic, offering a longer throw of 1,180 feet. The high-output modes have been slightly reduced to 240, 450, and 900 lumens, but the battery life remains consistent with the black variant. Both models produce a cool light at a color temperature of 6,500 Kelvin.
Additionally, the TAC AA 2.0 comes with two diffuser rubber covers, which can transform the flashlight into a small lantern with either white or red light.
The Acebeam TAC AA 2.0, including the battery, is now available for $39.90.
