Alexandria is exploring options to regulate or ban gas-powered leaf blowers due to concerns about noise and air pollution. The city will hold two community meetings in March to gather feedback from residents and business owners.
According to a city press release, the meetings will include a presentation from city staff outlining the proposed regulations, their expected impact, and the timeline for implementation. Officials will also answer questions from the public.
The first meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 13, at 7 p.m. at the Patrick Henry Recreation Center. This session will focus on potential regulation changes and how the implementation process could affect the community.
The city encourages residents to attend and share their opinions as it considers new policies for gas-powered leaf blowers.
