Changan Automobile (SHE: 000625) is moving forward with its next-generation battery technology, planning to load all-solid-state batteries onto prototype vehicles by the end of 2025. The company aims to validate the Jinzhongzhao all-solid-state batteries in vehicles by 2026 and scale up mass production by 2027.
In a recent investor communications conference, Changan highlighted its commitment to “energy freedom” for customers by accelerating the development of advanced batteries. The all-solid-state batteries, boasting an energy density of up to 400 Wh/kg, are designed to provide a driving range of over 1,500 kilometers on a full charge, which would significantly reduce range anxiety for EV users.
The company’s ambitious timeline marks a significant step in the automotive industry’s transition to more efficient and reliable battery technologies, with solid-state batteries seen as a key innovation for the future of electric vehicles.
