Tesla’s newly established Megafactory in Shanghai, China, has successfully exported its first batch of Megapack energy-storage batteries, just over a month after launching production. The batteries were shipped from Shanghai Port to Australia, marking a significant milestone in Tesla’s expansion within the global energy storage market.
The export of the Megapacks from the Shanghai facility underscores Tesla’s growing role in the energy storage sector, extending its battery technology beyond electric vehicles to energy storage solutions. These Megapacks, which utilize lithium batteries—a key technology in modern energy storage—will serve both the domestic and Asia-Pacific markets. This move highlights Tesla’s commitment to advancing clean energy solutions and broadening its market reach.
